In need of a good fence

March 9, 2010

I have a favorite yoga pose.

It’s called “Fence in the Sun”.

For this pose you need a good wooden fence warm and sap soggy in the summer sun.

Boots and cowboy hat are optional.

Face fence post.

Place right foot on first rung of fence.

Lean chest against post.

Chin on top of post.

Watch the horses, whatever’s going on in the arena, or the clouds.

Breath in the smell of pine sap, wood lacquer, horse, and sweat.

Feel the comforting pressure of a good wooden fence pressed up against your body.

This is your meditation.

Note: Picture demonstrates an advanced variation of “Fence in the Sun.”

My second favorite yoga pose! For me, #1 is Butt In Saddle Facing Sun.
    Love this. 😉
