Makes Me Smile

March 13, 2009

The Colorado river no longer has a foot thick layer of ice and snow covering it. It’s now mostly exposed after a winter of hiding. And it’s gorgeous. The disparity between the air temperature and the water temperature means that my drives to work are blessed with views of a steaming cobalt waterway snaking through fire orange willows. For some reason, the steam makes the view extra special. I just love how the whisps of condensed air float and drift and swirl above the river. Pretty special stuff.

Makes me wish I had a digital camera.
